Part 1
When my daughter, who is the oldest of my two children, was two years old we bought our first house, which was in Spokane, Washington. Five years later, when my son was two years old, we bought our second house, which was in Moses Lake, Washington. Recently both my son and my daughter, who are now grown with families of their own, have moved back to these neighborhoods. My daughter now lives within a few blocks of our former home in Spokane and my son now lives within a few blocks of our former home in Moses Lake. It is as though they have made a full circle in their lives, coming back to their roots.
This is a physical picture of the full circle I have made in my own spiritual life. I was created in the image of God, Who is a spiritual Being. My body was formed from the dust of the earth by His own hand and brought into existence by Him at the creation of the world to be a house for His divine Spirit. My first home on this earth was the Garden of Eden, a place of quiet peace and rest and joy unspeakable as I walked and talked with God in the cool of the evening. My spirit was free to hear His voice and to always do His will, and to bask in His love.
Then, by the decisions that I made in my life, I allowed God’s adversary - the spirit of Satan - to come in and inhabit this house that was made for God alone. For many years I ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, tasting more evil than good. But though I made my bed in hell, God was always there, gently entreating me with His Spirit to come home to Him.
There came a day when His love broke through the walls of protection that I had solidly built around myself, and my heart responded to His call. Step by step He has lead me homeward through the experiences He has perfectly ordained for me. And now once again, my spirit is free to hear His voice and to do His will in all things, and to bask in His love as I walk and talk with Him in the Garden. I have made a full circle. I have come home to God.
